Series History: The Mariners are 21-12 all-time against the Owls, and 14-7 when hosting. In the last 15 meetings, the Mariners are 14-1.

Last Meeting: Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball cruised to a 73-47 victory over UMaine-Presque Isle on February 5, 2020 inside of Smith Gymnasium.

The Mariners jumped out to a double-figure lead in the first quarter and held the Owls to single-digits in both of the first two quarters to take a 38-14 advantage into halftime. The Mariners never looked back in the second half on their way to the victory.

Melinda Ogden tallied a game-high 18 points to go along with two rebounds, an assist and a steal, while both Lauren Plissey (Hermon, Maine) and Morgan Boudreau (Benton, Maine) chipped in with 10 points. Plissey contributed six rebounds, three blocks and a steal, while Boudreau added four rebounds, an assist and a steal, while Maureen Stanton (Abington, Mass.) led the Mariners with four assists, and also contributed nine points, and three rebounds.

Mariah Dunbar led the Owls with 15 points, three rebounds, three steals and an assist.

The Mariners shot 42.9 percent from the floor and 34.8 percent from beyond the arc, while the Owls shot 29.1 percent overall and 15.4 percent from three-point land. Maine Maritime held a 46-35 advantage in rebounds.

Maine Maritime's Last Game: Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball picked up a 78-63 season-opening victory over UMaine-Farmington last Saturday night inside of Dearborn Gymnasium.

The two teams battled closely for most of the first three quarters, but the Mariners put together a six-point run to close out the third quarter and added four-unanswered points to start the fourth quarter. This run built a 12-point lead (60-48) with 8:49 to play in the game.

Maine Maritime maintained their double-digit lead throughout the fourth quarter and picked up the 78-63 win.

Plissey led the Mariners with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds, while also collecting four steals, three blocks and an assist. Kali Barber (Tampa, Fla.) tallied 10 points, three rebounds and an assist in her collegiate debut with the Mariners. Lauren Cook (Charlotte, Maine), Claire Felix (Mahopac, N.Y.), Samantha Mason (Lamoine, Maine) and Holly Reeder-Morning (Kingston, Mass.) chipped in with eight points each.

McKenna Brodeur led the Beavers with a double-double of her own. Brodeur tallied a game-high 13 rebounds to go along with 10 points, three assists and a steal.

Maine Maritime shot 42.9 percent from the floor and 21.7 percent from three-point land, while the Beavers shot 36.4 percent overall and 25 percent from behind the arc. UMaine-Farmington held a 50-40 advantage in rebounds, but committed 28 turnovers compared to the Mariners' 19.

UMaine-Presque Isle's Last Game: Emily Wheaton scored a game-high 28 points to lead UMaine-Presque Isle women's basketball over UMaine-Augusta, 87-69, last Saturday.

Wheaton lead the Owls with a 28 points and three assists. Mariah Dunbar and Lexi Ireland both chipped in with 14 points, Hunter Mercier contributed 12 points and Paige Espling finished just shy of a double-double with 10 rebounds and eight points.

The Owls shot 48.4 percent from the floor, and 56.3 percent from three-point land, while the Moose shot 48.9 percent overall and 47.1 percent from three. UMaine-Augusta held a 26-22 edge in rebounds.
