Mariners Fall to Terriers

CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime falls to Thomas College 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in a conference matchup.

How it Happened: Joshua Joseph scored a goal in the 27th minute to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead. Zenawi Bowen added another in the 67th minute to extend the led 2-0. Branden Pasternak (Orlando, Fla.) recorded a goal in the 78th minute for the Mariners, assisted by Reuben Harrison (Heidelberg, Germany), to round out the scoring for the game. 

Inside the Numbers: The Terriers held a 8-2 advantage in corner kicks and a 20-11 advantage in shots. Trevor Gray (Gorham, Maine) tallied seven saves for the Mariners, while Jonathan Leclair recorded two saves for the Terriers.

Up Next: The Mariners fall to 3-5-1 overall and 3-1-1 in conference while Thomas College improves to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in conference. Maine Maritime returns to action on Tuesday, October 5 at 6:00 pm when they host the University of Southern Maine at Ritchie Field.
